You’re sitting on a great idea, or perhaps you’ve made an attempt to put it to the page, but you’re feeling stuck. As your book coach, I function as your accountability partner with a professional eye, providing both encouragement and structured feedback.
You will receive the best of both worlds: someone in your corner, cheering you on and helping you through the process, while also making sure you’re always heading in the right direction.
There are two coaching packages I offer; The Kickstart and The Creative Coaching packages. One for writers in the midst of their work, and one for writers looking to get started. The structure of coaching differs depending on which place you are, so I advise reading carefully to decide which is better suited to your situation.
My standard rates start at $0.03 per word, so these packages offer exceptional value for any first-time novelist.
Book Coaching Packages
The Kickstart
A comprehensive developmental edit of your unfinished manuscript.
KICKSTART TO A FINISHED DRAFT
The Kickstart package is for those in the depths of the writing process, having trouble finding a way forward. Revising as you write, second-guessing your ideas, losing motivation are all common in the writing process.
Although they may be common, they don’t have to be necessary. Sometimes, all it takes is a step back to see the way forward.
This package offers professional assistance through writing’s paralyzing lows, so you can reach the satisfying highs. You’ll receive a detailed edit of your work so far, whatever place it's at, with the aim of zooming out, brainstorming, and analyzing the natural paths to take your story next. Expanding and structuring your ideas so you can feel confident in finishing the rest of your draft.
Must have started writing your manuscript.
If you haven’t started yet but still need help, see: Creative Coaching Package
-
Initial consultation before you lock into the package. To make sure this package is right for you, discuss where you’re at, the problems you’re facing, and set expectations.
I’ll take a look at your work so far. I’ll edit, provide feedback, and create a list of potential paths to take the story based on what I see, and what your goals are.
The potential paths concern the big picture: character arcs, plot direction, how theme ties in, overall pace and structure. The amount of potential paths you will receive is based on how deep you are into the draft, and how much you are willing to change.
During this time, I will be sure to contact you with regular progress updates via message/email.
Once completed, I send all of this over for your thoughts. We’ll schedule another call to go over it, and decide if there is a path that you like. If so, we will discuss the next steps to follow your selected path.
If you don’t like any of the paths, we will incorporate your feedback in our brainstorming of new paths until we find the one you’re happy with. This extra brainstorming, if required, will take place on the same call so that there’s no further delays before you can get to work again.
If there are any further questions after the second call, you can send me up to 5 follow up emails/messages.
I do all edits in new documents or copies of the original manuscript. This allows you to decide on the changes and edits you agree with, without them being forced onto you.
Charge is based on word count. $0.03 per word.
-
A detailed developmental edit on your work so far, accompanied by an editorial letter. Editorial letter is sectioned as follows:
Introduction and overview
Identifying of the core threads of your story (plot, character, theme, etc.) that will inform the potential paths
Highlight and strengths of the core threads
Suggestions and feedback on the core threads for your consideration
The list of potential paths. Each path includes the direction, development, and ending of all threads, so that no aspect of your story is left behind. You can be sure that I’m not just suggesting ideas to take the story, but showing you how it would look.
Your draft will also receive in-text comments. Smaller notes, suggestions, etc. (all done in a copy of the original document).
You will receive a checklist of next steps in writing, and via our follow up call, once you’ve selected a path.

Creative Coaching
Create momentum in your writing and get regular developmental edits.
brainstorming & accountability
The Creative Coaching is for those with all of the ideas, but none of the structure.
Put your ideas into action with the help of an accountability partner that can provide professional guidance and feedback. Create momentum in your writing so you can stop theorizing and start doing.
Requires a minimum of three months commitment to coaching and manuscript development. Must have not started drafting yet, or only recently started. If you are well into your draft, see: Kickstart edit
-
You set the tempo.
Creative coaching isn’t about fulfilling quotas, it’s about consistency. Whatever pace is best for you, is the pace that you’ll be held to.
Catch up calls weekly/every two weeks.
Each call we will set writing goals to complete before the next call. On the following call, you bring the writing you’ve completed, and I bring the edits/feedback on your writing from the previous week.
An accountability partner with a professional eye
Accountability and consistency are key to writing. Not only will I keep you on track, but I will also provide professional insight and guidance along the way, so you can be sure you’re writing with purpose.
Three months of consistent writing, with the option to extend
A minimum of three months commitment is required for this package, however this can be extended at the end of the three months for as long as it takes you to create a publish-ready manuscript.
No punishment or “grading”
If you fall behind, or set goals that end up being too much for you, we can readjust however you like. The writing process always has its highs and lows, and it’s important to remember that we are working with goals, not assignments.
-
Weekly/bi-weekly developmental edits on all your progress. Structured feedback with suggestions, encouragement, and guidance.
Weekly/bi-weekly calls where we will:
Discuss your work
Break down when something is working, not working, and the why behind it
Keep track of your progress (word count, chapter goals) to keep you motivated
Set new goals to keep you focused
The option to extend at the end of three months. Three month, six month, and indefinite (until manuscript is finished) options.
