ABOUT ME
Hey, I’m Jye.
Since becoming a certified Developmental Editor with the Editorial Freelancers Association, I’ve dedicated myself to helping first time science fiction and fantasy authors transform their drafts into polished, publishable works.
I’ve held a passion for storytelling all my life. My earliest memories are of my collection of superhero storybooks, gifted to me by my Mom. I’ve created my own stories for as long as I’ve been able to read and write. It’s not a complete day until I’ve read, watched, or immersed myself in a story.
To me, stories encapsulate what makes life special. The ability to question and imagine are what make us human. We package our imaginations into different mediums in the hope that they find and speak to others. I don’t think enough time is taken to appreciate these qualities and their importance, which is why I write and review stories that matter on my Substack, Sand & Swords.
I’ve known all my life that I wanted to work with stories beyond writing my own. This is why I became a Developmental Editor, because I find joy in the storytelling process and seeing them come to life. I want to contribute to the importance of stories and imagination, not only through my work as a writer, but also through my work as an editor. Helping other authors develop their unique ideas, insights, and voice. Offering guidance, collaboration, and encouragement on the journey to create a published work.
